Manual “Community Resource Mobilization for Solving Local Problems”

Raises the questions of resource mobilization for solving community problems, describes various approaches to set priorities and to steps needed to develop a strategy and define necessary resources. Separate chapters are dedicated to legal organizational forms which can be employed by a community to accumulate resources and to the experience of the communities of the Korostyshev and Svativ regions in solving the problem of waste disposal. Published in 2005 in Ukrainian.

Manual “Preparation and Implementation of Local Environmental Programmes in Local Communities of Ukraine”

Based on the experience of the implementation of local environmental programs in seven communities in Ukraine. It contains a detailed and step by step description of the actions aimed at forming effective targeted policies as well as the mobilization of the community resources for the implementation of these policies. The manual is aimed at the managers and professionals of local governments, public and private social services, and the interested public.  Published in 2004 in Ukrainian.

Translation of the handbook “Manual for the Realization of the Local Environmental Action Programmes in Central and Eastern Europe”

Contains detailed recommendations for the preparation of targeted programs to address the environmental problems of local communities. The manual describes the experience of communities in Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Macedonia. The ICDU team translated the handbook into Russian (2000) and Ukrainian (2002).

Brochure “Local Environmental Action Program in Ukraine”

Contains a detailed description of the LEAP programme, its results and the success stories of communities: Yevpatoria, Pavlograd, the Kosiv region, Balaklava, the Svative region, Korostyshev, and Chechelnik village. Published in 2003 in English and Ukrainian.
